For years, I have collected textiles, lace, trims, buttons and small treasures whilst travelling. Pieces chosen for their beauty, originality and provenance, gathered from flea markets, antique fairs, old haberdasheries, vintage stores and many tiny shops discovered along the way. 

The Founding Collection was the first time I began to let some of those pieces go. 

Each parcel was individually curated from what I had gathered, so no two were exactly the same. Some pieces came with stories of where they were found or something of their history. Others arrived with a little more mystery. 

Thank you to everyone who became part of the very first Atlas & Thread collection. 

Part of the joy of The Founding Collection was the surprise, so very little of what was inside the parcels was shown before they were released. 

Now I can begin to share some of those pieces with you. 

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing a closer look at some of the textiles and treasures from The Founding Collection on Instagram, including the places they came from and the stories behind them.

I’ve already started pulling together pieces for the next Atlas & Thread collection. There is still plenty of sorting, gathering and curating to do, but it’s beginning to take shape.

Subscribers will hear about the new collection first and receive early access before it is released publicly. Half of The Founding Collection was purchased by subscribers during early access.
